Vasile Tarlev pleads for avoiding ‘sophistication’ of evaluation tests
Admission 2007 will officially be closed on August 25, together with the official display of the results in the secondary and professional educational institutions, Viorelia Moldovan-Batranac, deputy minister of Education and Youth told a Government meeting on August 3.
According to the cited source, the admission process has ended in most of the establishments, following up with the second tours of admissions in secondary specialised educational institutions.
Prime Minister Vasile Tarlev said the next evaluation sessions and test-taking methodology should be carried out and debated publicly. The prime-minister was dissatisfied with the frequent accusations of poor coordination and professionalism during the baccalaureate and admission exams.
The prime minister requested that at the formulation of the tests in the future, more teachers from the pre-university institutions should take part, in order to avoid any “sophistication” of the tests.
According to the Ministry of Education and Youth statistics for this year, 32 thousand students were passed the Baccalaureate exams, at a passing rate of 95%.
