The Revival Party’s candidate for mayor of Chisinau, after polls closed, said that he decided to contend in the mayoral election because he is convinced that Chisinau and the whole Moldova deserve a new start, a reveal of the spirit of society, transparency and prosperity in each family of Moldovans, IPN reports.

In a press briefing, he said that regardless of the results, the party’s team will work to satisfy the needs of citizens. He voiced hope that the promises made to the citizens by the candidates involved in the electoral competition will be fulfilled.

Voting ended at 9 p.m. and the electoral bureaus began to compile voting reports. According to the CEC, over 1.147 million electors voted in the general local elections. This is 41.4% of the voting-eligible population. In the municipality of Chisinau, the turnout was of almost 267,000 persons, which is nearly 41% of the voting-age citizens.
