Vasile Bolea, Constantin Butucel and Andrei Donică present priorities in new round of debates “I want to be a mayor”

The rooting out of corruption at the Chisinau City Hall by installing video cameras in the offices of functionaries, attraction of foreign investments and solving of the problem of traffic jams by putting up pay parking lots are among the main objectives of the candidates for mayor of Chisinau Vasile Bolea, Constantin Butucel and Andrei Donică. The three contenders made public their priorities for the municipality of Chisinau in the debates program “I want to be a mayor” on ProTV Chisinau channel, IPN reports.

Vasile Bolea, the candidate of the Revival Party, said that when he is elected mayor, he will declare zero tolerance of corruption and this phenomenon will be rooted out by monitoring all the offices in the City Call through video cameras.

“We will install surveillance cameras in all the offices of the Chisinau City Hall so that we see on TV how someone enters the office of the deputy mayor or other functionaries of the City Hall and leaves undue gains, as the Criminal Code says, there, while the deputy mayor immediately starts to count. Cooperation with the NAC would be welcome. We would like the tendering commissions, where public money is spent, to include by a representative of the NAC,” stated Vasile Bolea.

The candidate of the Party “We Build Europe at Home” Constantin Butucel
, who settled in the Netherlands over 12 years ago, said that if he is elected mayor, he will attract foreign investors, will increase the economic potential of the city and will create new jobs.

“We already enjoy the support of three large companies of the UK, the Netherlands and Belgium, which are ready to help us financially and to invest €70 million in waste recycling, in green energy and roads. With this money, we will only begin to act and will then form a group of expert to attract foreign investment,” stated Constantin Butucel.

The candidate of the Professionals’ Movement “Speranța-Nadejda” Andrei Donică said the congestion in the city is the blame of Ion Ceban, who ignored this problem during his tenure. Traffic congestion in the city can be relieved by building parking lots to free the lanes from vehicles parked by the roadside.

“Elementarily, smart traffic lights should be set up at crowded intersections. Parking places should be created wherever it is possible. I consider the drivers in the recent past have used the roadway too much. The vehicles should not be parked on the roadway. We have streets were vehicles are parked on both sides of the roadway and only a lane remains free,” noted Andrei Donică.

The debates are organized by ProTV Chisinau channel in partnership with Promo-LEX Association, the Association “Journalistic Investigations Center”, the independent online publication “NewsMaker”, “My Mayor’s Office” Association, IPN News Agency and the portal “Privesc.eu”.
