Vasile Bolea about closing of churches: Law is law for everyone!

“The law is law for everyone,” said MPs Ruxanda Glavan and Vasile Bolea, referring to the refusal of some of the churches in Moldova to comply with the authorities’ decision to close public places up until April 1.

“The law is applied all over the Republic of Moldova and applies to all the private individuals and legal entities. If the law is violated, those to blame should be punished,” Socialist MP Vasile Bolea stated in the program “Natalia Morari’s Politics” on TV8 channel.

Ex-minister of health Ruxanda Glavan, Democratic MP, said the population should first of all be informed and, if a consensus is not reached, fines should be imposed.

“Let’s talk to the people by persuasion, not by constraints. We should explain to them that there are drastic and heavy fines and the goal of the state is to persuade the parishioners to help the authorities influence the people stay at home,” stated Ruxanda Glavan.

As to the fact that the churches do not obey the decision of the National Extraordinary Commission for Public Health, the MP said her Socialist colleague is right.

“The law is law for every tine. The red color of the stoplights is also for those who went out of the church and should stop at the red color of the stoplights. This is evident. If we see that there is no understanding of the situation we face, we should concentrate our efforts on this,” stated Ruxanda Glavan.

She called on the people to mobilize by educating the population, showing discipline and solidarity.

On March 15, the National Extraordinary Commission for Public Health decided that the retail outlets, recreation centers, gyms, sports centers, swimming polls, theaters, cinemas, concert halls, churches, museums and other public places should stop work on a temporary basis.
