Varnita residents urged to stock up on wood and water

The Varnita village hall is urging residents to stock up on wood, water and save electricity. The announcement comes against the background that from January 1, 2025, "Tiraspoltransgaz" will cut off the gas supply on the left bank of the Dniester and in some localities on the right bank, including Varnita, IPN reports.

"We urge you to provide your homes with solid fuel-based heating (firewood, briquettes, pellets and coal), stock up drinking water, reduce electricity consumption", the announcement of the local government of Varnita reads.

The locality is connected to the natural gas, drinking water and electricity networks, which are managed by Bender municipal enterprises.

The village of Varnita is on the right bank of the Dniester and is under the control of the Chisinau authorities. The government has not yet officially presented solutions for the 11 towns in the security zone, which have been without natural gas since January 1.

On December 16, a 60-day state of emergency was declared in Moldova. A state of emergency was also declared by the Tiraspol regime. Also, from January 1, 2025, Garzprom will no longer supply natural gas on the territory of the Republic of Moldova for the Transnistrian region.
