The remittances received in the third quarter of this year came to US$426.4 million, 2.2% down compared with the third quarter of last year. The sent remittances rose by 15.3% to US$133.0 million in the third quarter, IPN reports.
According to the National Bank of Moldova, a remittance received in Moldova was US$570.9 on average, while a sent remittance was US$ 629.8.
Some 83.5% of the remittances were received in Moldova by private individuals through the agency of money transfer systems, while 15.5% through the SWIFT network. The services provided based on bilateral agreements represented only 1%.
Remittances that came to Moldova from Israel in the third quarter of this year added up to over US$68.4 million, from Italy to over US$56.7 million, from Russia to over US$51.3 million, from Germany to over US$51.1 million, from France to over US$35 million, etc.
Remittances sent from Moldova to Russia came to over US$32.2 million, to Italy to over US$21.2 million, to Romania to over US$10.2 million, to the UK to over US$6.7 million, etc.
