Validity of radio licenses issued at contest to be extended to 25 years

The period of validity of radio licenses issued on a contest basis will be increased from 15 to 25 years. The licenses could be extended without paying the portability tax, as a bill that was approved by the Cabinet provides, IPN reports.

Under the bill, the range of radio frequencies for civilian use will be managed by the National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology. The changes were approved by the Cabinet on the initiative of the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitization in order to reduce the administrative burden on providers of public electronic communications networks.
