Valery Kuzmin: Naryshkin’s visit does not represent interference in Moldova’s internal affairs
Russian Ambassador in Moldova Valery Kuzmin, in an interview for Allmoldova, said the visit of a high-ranking Russian official to Chisinau cannot be regarded as attempt to interfere in Moldova’s internal affairs, especially because a number of European officials, including the foreign ministers of Poland and Sweden, the President of the European Parliament, the European Commissioner for Enlargement and Neighborhood Policy, started to come again several days after the visit paid by Sergey Naryshkin (the head of the Russian presidential administration), Info-Prim Neo reports.
The Russian official said that unlike the multiple visits by European emissaries before the elections, Sergey Naryshkin’s visit took place after the Moldovan people cast their votes. Naryshkin confirmed Russia’s interest in overcoming the political instability in Moldova. The discussions and meetings centered on the development of the cooperation relations between the two countries in different areas, Valery Kuzmin stated.
“These European officials’ visits are not regarded as interference in the internal affairs, not mentioning the statements made before the elections “in support... high appreciation... recognition of the success...” by different European institutions, the U.S., Senate and the Romanian authorities.”
Valery Kuzmin reietarted that Russia’s interest in Moldova is similar to Moldova’s interest in Russia. It is a normal interest of two countries and peoples that are close neighbors that have a joint history and established relations of cooperation and mutual assistance and cultural exchanges.
The ambassador said that Russia wants to have good relations with Moldova as a predictable and friendly partner country.
