He specified that under the official procedure, two ambassadors of the same country – the former and the current one – cannot be on the territory of a foreign state simultaneously, Info-Prim Neo reports. Valery Kuzmin stated he was not empowered to say when the newly appointed Ambassador Farit Muhametshin will arrive in Chisinau. He also said that his leaving has nothing to do with the visit of Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Rogozin, who was recently named special representative for Transnistria of the Russian President. The statements were made after a meeting with Speaker Marian Lupu on Wednesday. Marian Lupu said he would like to talk to Dmitry Rogozin, who will come to Chisinau this month. “I’m not sure I will be in the country in that period, but if I will be I will ask for a meeting with him to see what he represents and what his status is as Mister Rogozin will not substitute Russia’s representatives in the talks in the 5+2 format,” he stated. The Head of Parliament said that emphasis will be laid on the positive trends in the political dialogue between Moldova and Russia and the possibilities of restoring the interparliamentary cooperation. Marian Lupu and Valery Kuzmin said the Moldovan-Russian relations will be developed based on respect and mutually advantageous interests in economy and other areas of activity.
