Valeriu Zubko will give details about his resignation next week
The Prosecutor General’s Office (PGO) confirmed that Prosecutor General Valeriu Zubko tendered his resignation. The institution’s press service said the reasons will be announced in a news conference next week, Info-Prim Neo reports.
It is Prime Minister Vlad Filat and the Liberal-Democratic parliamentary group that insisted on the prosecutor general’s resignation. They argued that Valeriu Zubko is to blame for the inappropriate steps taken by the PGO immediately after the tragic hunting incident in the Domneasca Forest, which ended in the death of a man.
The leaders of the Alliance for European Integration (AEI) decided to call an extraordinary session of Parliament on January 21 and constitute a commission of inquiry into this case.
