Valeriu Strelet to lead Liberal-Democratic parliamentary group
MP Valeriu Strelet was appointed as chairman of the parliamentary group of the Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM). The decision was taken unanimously in Tuesday’s meeting of the Liberal Democratic parliamentary group, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communiqué from the party.
Valeriu Strelet replaced Mihai Godea, who defected from the PLDM last week. The Liberal Democratic parliamentary group took cognizance of Mihai Godea’s withdrawal, stating that this fact does not affect the unity and functionality of the faction.
“The decision taken by our former colleague is based exclusively on subjective reasons. The invoked motives are unfounded. At the same time, we consider that every person has the right to leave a party as well as join a party,” the PLDM says in the communiqué.
In the meeting, the Liberal-Democratic group also decided that MP Tudor Deliu will hold the post of deputy chairman of the faction, which was occupied by Valeriu Strelet until now.
