Though he is against forming a new alliance with the PDM, the acting president of the PLDM Valeriu Strelet will comply with the party’s decision if the party decides in a different way. But he will refuse to hold the post of Premier on an interim basis and will tender his resignation on October 30. The former Premier made such statements in the program “Interpol” on TV 7 channel, IPN reports.

“I would prefer the PDM to continue its games without the PLDM. But it is my party colleagues who will take a relevant decision and I will comply. For the PDM, it would be a difficult task to convince the Liberal-Democratic MPs to form a new alliance. I realize that the party will go through very difficult moments, turbulence and pressure,” stated Strelet.

He noted that the current situation reminds him of December 2010, when the PDM had negotiations on two sides. “Everything possible was then done for the PDM to agree to form an alliance with the pro-European parties. The price of such a decision was significant and its consequences continue to be felt by different influences,” stated the Liberal-Democratic heavyweight.

Valeriu Strelet considers the party that he represents is to blame for the created situation because it made too many concessions. “The PLDM made many mistakes when the ruling alliance was formed and conceded a lot in the name of the European integration. We realize this now. European officials came and asked us to form a coalition in the name of Europeanization. I think the PDM captured and controls the state because the National Anticorruption Center, the Prosecutor General’s Office and the National Bank of Moldova were conceded. I also feel guilty because I didn’t insist on the de-politicization of the PGO and NAC in the negotiations on the last accord to form the AEI,” he stated.
