Valeriu Pasat founds party

Former Minister of Defense and former head of the Security and Information Service Valeriu Pasat announced plans to create a new political party together with an initiative group. Valeriu Pasat's spokesman Dmitri Chubashenko said the party will participate in the early legislative elections and presidential elections set to take place in autumn and in the local elections of 2011, Info-Prim Neo reports. Valeriu Pasat said the new force will implement all his ideas and the ideas of the initiative group, especially as regards the holding of a referendum on teaching religion in schools. “We decided to create a new force in Moldova that will promote the idea that the Basis of Orthodoxy should be taught in the pre-university education system and many other projects. I realized we can do nothing in this country without a political project,” Valeriu Pasat said. Dmitri Chubashenko said it is too early to reveal the new party's ideology, composition, name, strategy and tactics. A staff is being created and the project will be launched officially in several weeks. Politicians from other parties might join the new party.
