Former Minister of Economy Valeriu Lazar was appointed as chairman of the Chamber of Trade and Industry. Contacted by IPN, the Ministry of Economy’s spokesman Vitalie Condratski said that an exteriority meeting of the Chamber’s congress was held on July 11, where the former minister was voted in as chairman unanimously.

Gheorghe Cucu, who held the post of chairman of the Chamber of Trade and Industry before Valeriu Lazar, will serve as the Chamber’s president of honor.

Valeriu Lazar resigned from the post of minister of economy at the start of July. He was replaced by Andrian Candu, who was Deputy Head of Parliament at that moment.

The Chamber of Trade and Industry of Moldova is an autonomous and independent nongovernmental organization whose major goal is to represent the interests of its members in the foreign economic relations of Moldova and in the relations with the governmental authorities and foreign business circles.
