Valeriu Lazar: I will go to Constitutional Court to present our arguments

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Valeriu Lazar considers that the Government’s decision of the end of May and the contest to select the company to which to concede the Chisinau International Airport were perfectly legal. “I will go to the Constitutional Court to present our arguments and the arguments of the contest commission,” said the official, quoted by IPN.

The assets of the Chisinau International Airport were conceded to SRL UK KOMAKS, in association with SA Habarovsk Airport, SA Kolomensk Zavod and SRL Avia Invest.

The Deputy Prime Minster voiced hope that the high court will take a decision as soon as possible. “It will be regrettable if the Constitutional Court rules that the decision is not constitutional. Over a year was needed for preparing the feasibility study, different expert appraisals and documents for holding the contest. The Chisinau International Airport is greatly in need of investments, right now,” he stated.

The Constitutional Court suspended the Government’s decision to concede the airport and accepted the challenge of a group of MPs to verify its constitutionality. The challenge was submitted by Liberal reformers on September 10.
