Well-known film producer and director Valeriu Jereghi was appointed as director of the National Cinematography Center by a Cabinet decision on May 11. Minister of Culture Monica Babuc said Valeriu Jereghi obtained the highest score in the two-stage contest held by the Ministry of Culture, IPN reports.
“Valeriu Jereghi is a people’s artist. He became known by his films both in the country and abroad. The numerous awards he won at national and international competitions are a proof of this. Valeriu Jereghi proved that even in unfavorable conditions, like those in Moldova, good films can be made,” stated the minister.
