The Parliament discharged Valeriu Gurbulea from the post of prosecutor general on the basis of his resignation. The decision was taken by a majority vote on Friday, October 2. The parliamentary group of the PCRM did not take part in the vote, Info-Prim Neo reports. Ion Plesca, chairman of the parliamentary commission for appointments and immunities, said that the Parliament has the right to dismiss the prosecutor general given that he handed in his resignation. The resignation was tendered on September 25. Valeriu Gurbulea was named prosecutor general in 2007.
