The independent candidate for the office of President of Moldova Valeriu Giletski has officially began his election campaign. The candidate presented his program, slogan and symbol for the race for the presidency. In his campaign launch speech, Valeriu Giletski said his election program has the form of a creed that contains ten key points that cover all the important spheres for the development of society, IPN reports.
Valeriu Giletski stated that the President is responsible for all his actions before God and before the people. He must be the guarantor of the correct functioning of state institutions and must be the promoter of peace. He must unite society that is divided according to different criteria and be a real mediator between the political forces so as not to allow the struggles between these to cause damage to society.
“The President must be a guarantor of the observance of human rights and freedoms of all the people. Consequently, each citizen must be treated with respect and dignity, regardless of nationality, gender, social position, political affiliation or religious convictions,” stated the independent candidate.
Valeriu Giletski pledged to defend the interests and integrity of the family and to struggle to offer the young people the possibility of fulfilling their dreams and plans at home. He noted that the President must make effort to restore the territorial integrity of Moldova and must ensure the continuity of the European integration process.
In the area of foreign policy, the candidate will plead for developing multilateral relations with all the countries that are ready to cooperate with the Republic of Moldova. “I think our relations with Romania, Ukraine, the U.S., Russia and the EU member states are of major importance,” he stated.
Valeriu Giletski’s slogan in the electoral race is “Peace in the family, unity of the people and welfare of the country”. His symbol is a dove with three ears in its beak. According to the candidate, the ears symbolize the three values on which his slogan is based: peace, unity and welfare.
On the ballot, Valeriu Giletski ends the list of candidates.
