President Nicolae Timofti appointed Valentin Timbaliuc to be his adviser in legal and institutional relations matters and represent him in the relations with Parliament and the Government, the President's Office announced in a press release. Valentin Timbaliuc is 57 years old. In 1983-2003 he held various positions in the prosecution service, including Chisinau County Prosecutor in 1999-2003. Since 2006 he has served as vice rector of the University of European Studies where he lectures constitutional law. Valentin Timbaliuc was a candidate for MP on the Democratic Labor Party's ticket in the 1994 elections, but the part failed to collect a sufficient number of votes.
