Vadim Misin removed from chairmanship of human rights commission

Unaffiliated MP Vadim Misin was replaced in the post of chairman of the commission on human rights and interethnic relations by Communist lawmaker Vasile Sova. The decision was taken by the votes of the Communist and Democratic MPs. The Liberal-Democratic faction announced they will appeal the decision to the Constitutional Court as it was taken with serious violations of the procedures, IPN reports.

The Communist MPs proposed substituting Vadim Misin almost a year after his defection from the Communist faction. Vasile Sova, who until recently was a member of the legal commission for appointments and immunities, will be replaced by Igor Vremea, who was earlier a member of the commission on environment and climate change.

The leader of the Liberal-Democratic faction Valeriu Strelet said this replacement shouldn’t have taken place as the Communist faction can no longer hold the chairmanship of four parliamentary commissions as it remained with only 34 members. That’s why they will challenge the decision in the Constitutional Court. The voting procedure was also violated as there were fewer MPs in the assembly hall than the announced number of votes.

After the legislative body was constituted, the Communist faction with 42 lawmakers gained control of four of the ten parliamentary commissions. Meanwhile, eight lawmakers left the faction.
