The Communist Opposition recommends the Government not to look for the causes of the political crisis in the Constitution, but reach a compromise with the Communist Party (PCRM). MP Vadim Misin said Tuesday that the Alliance for European Integration (AEI) goes to Strasbourg and Brussels in vain as they will not identify solutions to overcome the crisis there. “They must talk with us and not hope that the Venice Commission will change its position,” Misin said, quoted by Info-Prim Neo. Vadim Misin underlined the feasibility of the PCRM's constitutional amendment proposal, which provides for the election of the head of state in Parliament by three rounds of voting, by 61, 57 and, respectively, 52 votes. “Our proposal is good as the head of state will be definitely elected by such a method. It coincides with the recommendations made by the Venice Commission. It is not taken into account because it was submitted by the PCRM,” he said. The MP criticized the AEI's proposal that suggests allowing the people to elect the President. “They propose making a U-turn. Why should we do it? They answer that in order to avoid the non-election of the head of state. But we should not make things more complicated as our proposal is perfect,” Vadim Misin said. The MP also said that the parliamentary group of the PCRM will return to the parliamentary sitting after Speaker Mihai Ghimpu announces when the legislative body will be dissolved. “We do not say when the Parliament must be dissolved. We do not say we want early elections tomorrow. But we want the situation in the country to be clear,” Misin said. He added that a new commission could be set up after the early legislative elections to decide how to modify article 78 of the Constitution amicably.
