Vadim Cobilas named Moldovan rugby player of the year

The Moldovan Rugby Federation awarded on Thursday, December 23, the best players and coaches. Vadim Cobilas won the Best Player accolade, Info-Prim Neo reports. The winner bested national team mates Oleg Prepelita, Veaceslav Titica, Nicolae Chirila and Andrei Romanov. Among women, Moldova’s rugby sevens captain Oxana Bunici topped the list, followed by Adriana Revenco, Lilia Dolghii and Natalia Clipca. The top 3 coaches of the year were named Sergiu Motoc, Veaceslav Bulai and Oleg Sadovici. Best rugby sevens player was chosen national captain Andrian Baltag, while best player from the domestic league was named Vitalie Baleca. Moldovan Rugby Federation president Vasile Revenco was happy with this year’s results and expressed his hope rugby would become the number 1 national sport.
