Vadim Brînzaniuc – portrait of candidate for mayor of Chisinau

The article forms part of IPN’s information campaign that presents biographical data, information about the incomes and property and professional experience of candidates for mayor general of the municipality of Chisinau.

Vadim Brînzaniuc is running for mayor general of the municipality of Chisinau on behalf of the European Social Democratic Party that is led by ex-minister of agriculture Ion Sula. Brînzaniuc acts as deputy chairman of this party.

He was born on October 30, 1982 in Larga village of Briceni district. He is married and has two children.

He graduated from the Faculty of Journalism and Communication Sciences and the Faculty of Law of the Moldova State University. He also studied at the Public Administration Academy and is a master of public administration.

In 2005-2010, he worked as the main specialist of the Chisinau City Hall, while in 2010-2019, he headed the Public Relations Division of the City Hall. In 2019, when Ruslan Codreanu held the post of mayor of Chisinau on an interim basis, Vadim Brînzaniuc was named head of Buiucani district. He held this post until March 2022. In 2022-2023, he served as adviser to the mayor in the mayor’s office of sector 4 of Bucharest.

For January 1 – December 31, 2022, he declared 124,677 lei salaries from the district head’s office of Buiucani and 70,757 RON earnings from the mayor’s office of sector 4 of Bucharest. For the same period, the candidate’s wife declared 120,000 lei salaries from the commercial organization “Digicon-M” SRL in which she owns a 100% holding. His wife received an allowance of 5,190 RON from the National House of Social Insurance of Romania.

Vadim Brînzaniuc owns a lot of 0.075 ha bought in 2012 for over 362,000 lei. He owns a house of over 146 square meters purchased in 2014 for over 1 million lei. In 2014, he also acquired a garage of over 42 square meters to the value of almost 77,000 lei. The family possesses two cars. The wife’s car made in 2015 was bought in 2021 for 300,000 lei. Vadim Brînzaniuc’s car made in 2021 was purchased in 2022 for €29,000.

Together with his wife, he declared four bank accounts, two of which in Romania, with over 100,000 lei and 65,000 RON in them.

In 2017, he took out a bank loan of 700,000 lei at an interest rate of 8.5%. The loan is repayable in 2027. In 2022, he raised a loan of €17,400 at an interest rate of 8.75%, which is repayable in 2027.

“While I headed the Buiucani district, I laid emphasis on the people’s interests, comfort and wellbeing. I intend to do this also after November 5. Chisinau experiences a lot of problems owing to which the city regresses instead of developing. It’s enough with half measures! We will fundamentally change the way in which the city is managed today (...). My commitment is to bring Chisinau to the forefront, to ensure its development and the deserved glitter,” the candidate stated in the event held to launch his electoral campaign.

As the draw decided, Vadim Brînzaniuc, of the European Social Democratic Party, will be under No. 8 on the ballot.
