Since the launch of the anti-Covid vaccination campaign in March, some 1.4 million doses have been given, amounting to a national rate of 24.65% of people that received at least one shot and a rate of 23.68% of fully vaccinated.
Svetlana Nicolăescu, Ministry of Health state secretary, says the vaccination rate has been stagnating lately, in contrast with the summer months when the process was quite intense.
Vaccination with at least one dose among health care workers is 90.64%, and 89.46% with two doses. According to the authorities, this has reduced cases in this group by 85%.
The highest full vaccination rate is registered in Chisinau - 35%. Soroca follows with 27%, Dubasari with 25%, and Orhei with 24%. At the same time, the lowest vaccination rates in the country (13%-15%) are recorded in Leova, Sângerei and UTA Gagauzia. The least vaccinated age group is 18-29 years.
According to the Ministry of Health, 88% of the coronavirus patients overall and 91% of those in intensive care units are unvaccinated.
The coronavirus case count in Moldova reached 307,000 and the number of associated deaths 7048.
