The health authorities are also considering the vaccination of children against COVID-19, with the parents’ consent. Svetlana Nicolăescu, secretary of state at the Ministry of Health, told a news conference that the new wave of infections affected more children, the cases of COVID-19 among children representing 10-12% of all the cases. This is twice more than in March, IPN reports.
Currently, vaccines against SARS-CoV-2 in Moldova are administered only to persons aged 18 and up. Vaccination is voluntary, but is recommended.
The vaccination of children against the novel coronavirus is analyzed by the National Immunization Advisory Committee that is to formulate recommendations in this regard.
