With Moldovans getting in the holiday mood, queues are swelling at Sculeni and Leușeni-Albița, the two most popular checkpoints on the border with Romania. The Border Police is calling on travelers to consider checkpoints that are less busier.

The Moldovan-Romanian border and customs authorities have put a series of measures in place to streamline border crossing traffic, with additional lanes opened or reversed, and the number of officers increased.

Travelers are urged to choose Leova-Bumbăta or Cahul for crossing the border instead.

Meanwhile, wait times at Costești are expected to increase due to scheduled maintenance work at the Stânca-Costești dam nearby, from 09:00 to 15:00.
