UTM teacher caught taking bribe
A faculty head of the Technical University of Moldova (UTM) was arrested on suspicion of passive corruption. The man asked for €300 for helping a student take her master’s thesis, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communiqué from the Anticorruption Center.
The man was caught in the act of taking the money from the student inside the UTM. He yielded the €300 up voluntarily, at the request of employees of the Anticorruption Center.
The teacher faces 5 to 10 years in prison or a fine of 20,000 to 60,000 lei for passive corruption.
