Utility companies to sign direct contracts with consumers in Transnistria

The utility companies in the Transnistrian region will be obliged to sign direct contracts with consumers. The Transnistrian authorities aim to this way exclude the housing sector managing enterprises from the process of paying for public utilities, IPN reports.

According to the local press, the housing sector mangers are now payment intermediaries between consumers and utility companies. When the consumers have debts for utilities, the managing enterprises have to identity financial resources to clear these debts.

The authors of the initiative said the debts are mainly for heat and waste collection.

On the right side of the Nistru, some of the utility companies sign direct contracts with consumers, while others with the housing sector managers, but the payments for utilities are mainly made to the service providers.
