USAID appreciates Romania’s support for Moldova on path of European integration

USAID appreciates and thanks Romania for all the support offered to the Republic of Moldova in the latter’s efforts to integrate into the European Union, said Adrian Dupu, secretary of state of the Department for Relations with the Republic of Moldova of the Government of Romania, IPN reports.

Adrian Dupu noted that while in the United States on a visit, he had productive discussions about the support offered to the Republic of Moldova with Deputy Assistant Administrator in the Bureau for Europe and Eurasia at USAID Europe and Eurasia Mark Simakovsky. The U.S. official expressed his gratitude and thanked Romania for the assistance offered to the Republic of Moldova during the multiple successive crises and in the European integration process.

According to Adrian Dupu, in the discussions at the USAID head office, they considered methods by which efforts can be combined in different areas, especially to support the independent media and to fight fake news.

“The Republic of Moldova enjoys full support on the part of Romania and Europe and also of the United States of America to achieve the European integration desideratum. Our Department will continue the dialogue with USAID for employing the Romanian and American experience in implementing projects that would produce the best results in the Republic of Moldova,” stated Adrian Dupu.
