Vice President of the United States Joseph Biden will pay a visit to Moldova for the first time, at the invitation of Prime Minister Vlad Filat. The U.S. official is expected to come to Moldova on March 11, Info-Prim Neo reports. Vlad Filat made the invitation to Joseph Biden last January, when he was in the United States on a visit. In a meeting of the two officials, the Vice President said the United States will support the Moldovan authorities in their efforts to modernize the country and build a state of law. During Joseph Biden's visit to Chisinau, there will be discussed subjects concerning the bilateral relations and the prospects of developing them. On its website, the Washington Post says that Vice President Joe Biden will visit Finland, Russia and Moldova next month to meet with national leaders to discuss regional issues and topics of mutual interest to the United States. According to The Washington Post, the White House said Biden wants to signal support for Moldova's ongoing democratic and economic changes.
