U.S. urges strengthening Moldova’s energy security

The United States is ready to provide the necessary support and encourages Moldova’s efforts aimed at strengthening the country’s energy security, director of the Office for Eastern Europe of the Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs of the U.S. Department of State Alexander Kasanof said in a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Andrian Candu, IPN reports.

The U.S. official inquired how the United States can ensure particular aspects of Moldova’s energy security and about the development of the commercial relations between the two states. Andrian Candu asked for assistance in attracting American investors to Moldova.

Alexander Kasanof assured that the U.S. will support the reformation of the economic policy and underlined the necessity of creating a favorable business climate for the American investors to want to enter this market.
