U.S. provides $225,000 worth of assistance for flood relief efforts

The U.S. Government offered Moldova humanitarian aid in the amount of over $225,000 for flood relief efforts. More than a half of the relief supplies have been provided this morning, Emergencies Service spokeswoman Liliana Puscasu has told Info-Prim Neo. U.S. Ambassador in Moldova Asif Chaudhry handed over boats, cots, blankets, motor pumps, boots, medications, and medical equipment to the value of $133,000 to the head of the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service Mihai Harabagiu. Another 11 containers with goods worth $91,000 will arrive next week. The U.S Government reacted promptly to the tragedy that struck the Moldovan people. A number of trucks with aid were sent to the flood-hit villages the first days after the disaster.
