U.S. has new military attaché in Moldova

Lieutenant-Colonel Jeff Muir is the new military attaché of the United States in Moldova. Minister of Defense Anatol Salaru had a meeting with the new attaché on May 24, IPN reports.

According to the Ministry of Defense’s press service, Anatol Salaru reiterated that the U.S. is one of the most important strategic partners of Moldova and noted that owing to the efforts made by the military attaches, the reformation process is evident. He voiced hope that the cooperation in the military field will be continued.

Lieutenant-Colonel Jeff Muir said he will continue to support Moldova and undertook to intensify the relations between Moldova and the United States.

At the end of the discussion, the officials appreciated the work done by former military attaché Lieutenant-Colonel Joseph Bilbo, who significantly contributed to modernizing the National Army. On May 19, Joseph Carlton Bilbo was awarded the Civic Merit medal by President Nicolae Timofti.
