The executive initiated negotiations to sign an amendment to the Assistance Agreement on the development objective between the Government of the Republic of Moldova and the U.S. Government for more efficient democratic governance that was signed in Chisinau on September 28, 2016.

Under the amendment that will take effect when it is signed by the sides, the financing will be increased by US$ 1.75 million. As a result, the sum provided to Moldova through this agreement will exceed US$ 18 million.

The additional funds will be used to carry out the activities of the new child protection project that is aimed at increasing the safety, welfare and development conditions of vulnerable children, especially those who live without parental care in state institutions.
