The Embassy of the United States is satisfied with the pace of reforms done in Moldova, Ambassador James D. Pettit said in a meeting with Prime Minister Pavel Filip, IPN reports.
According to the Government’s press service, in the meeting the two officials discussed the implementation of the reform agenda and measures to foster the relations between the Republic of Moldova and the external partners. “The Government works a lot. We thus encourage you to keep up the pace of reforms,” stated James D. Pettit.
Pavel Filip said the implementation of the priority reform action roadmap and stabilization of the financial-economic situation are the main issues on which the Cabinet concentrates. He noted the good cooperation with the parliamentary alliance in this process. “We have so far implemented 68% of the planned measures and intend to fulfill all the commitments made to the people and the development partners by the end of July, as it was agreed,” he stated.
The officials exchanged opinions on the Transnistrian settlement process and on ways of strengthening the relations between the two states. Pavel Filip and James D. Pettit also discussed the preparations for signing a new country program with the IMF whose mission is to come to Chisinau at the beginning of July.
