U.S. Embassy donates software and computer equipment to Interior Ministry

The U.S. Embassy donated specialized investigative software and computer equipment, valued at $22,000, to the Department of Operative Services of the Ministry of Interior of Moldova, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a press release from the Embassy. During the donation ceremony, the Security Attaché of the U.S. Embassy, Regional Security Officer Nick Pietrowicz reiterated the U.S. Government s commitment to continue supporting Moldova s efforts to combat organized crime. The Head of the Interior Ministry s Department of Operative Services Alexandru Jizdan assured that the donated software and equipment will considerably increase the investigative capacities of the Ministry of Interior. This donation is part of the U.S. Government s continuing support for Moldova s efforts to combat organized crime, in the framework of the "Letter of Agreement between the Government of Moldova and the Government of the United States for Assistance in Narcotics Control and Law Enforcement," signed on August 28, 2001.
