The Embassy of the United States of America announces another competition for assistance awards through the Democracy Grants Program. Moldovan NGOs and Independent Mass Media are invited to submit projects whose purpose is to further the development of democracy and civil society in Moldova, IPN reports, quoting a press release from the Embassy.
The U.S. Embassy welcomes projects related to the following priorities: strengthening and promotion of civil society, democratic institutions; institutionalization of open, pluralistic, and democratic political processes at the local level; civic education; public participation in decision making; free flow of information, etc. The program does not support: humanitarian assistance or charitable activities; health projects, political or partisan activities; projects aimed at primary institutional development of the organization.
The award period is up to 12 months, while the award amount is up to $24,000. Applicants must submit their applications electronically. Detailed instructions on the application process are available at http://moldova.usembassy.gov/democracy-grants.html.
