The batch contains infrared thermometers, protective suits, protective screens, masks, protective eyeglasses, nitrile gloves, respirators and other individual equipment. These will be used by medical staff of the Central Military Clinical Hospital and the Consultative Diagnostic Center of the Ministry of Defense.

In the handover ceremony held at the Central Military Clinical Hospital, U.S. Ambassador to Moldova Dereck J. Hogan said that by this donation the United Nations wants to support the common efforts aimed at improving the epidemiological situation in the Republic of Moldova and in the whole world. “This is a small part of our assistance to help the Republic of Moldova combat this virus. The donation is a sign of our commitment to the Republic of Moldova. We are very glad to cooperate with you in overcoming this crisis,” stated the diplomat.

For his part, Minister of Defense Alexandru Pînzari thanked the American side for its receptivity and assistance. “COVID-19 is a challenge for everyone, but I’m convinced that by common efforts we will manage to contain this pandemic,” said the official.
