US delegation to tour projects financed in Moldova
An official delegation from the United States Congress House of Representatives will be in Chisinau on Saturday, March 31 and Sunday, April 1 to meet with Moldovan officials and tour projects supported by American partner organizations.
The delegation is composed of members of the House Democracy Assistance Commission (HDAC), which works with developing democratic governments throughout the world to strengthen their representative institutions. Three Members of the House of Representatives are travelling in the delegation: Representative David Price, of North Carolina, and Representatives Bill Shuster and Allyson Schwartz, both of Pennsylvania. Representative Price is Chairman of HDAC and the delegation leader.
On Saturday, the delegation will meet with officials at the U.S. Embassy in Chisinau and with members of the Moldovan Parliament. They will also tour the Medical University, which is engaged in partnerships with several universities in North Carolina. On Sunday, the delegation will visit Straseni Orphanage, where they will tour a health clinic constructed by the North Carolina National Guard. The delegation will depart Chisinau later in the day.
