U.S. Ambassador to ride 10 km on Sarateni-Soroca road
The U.S. Ambassador to Moldova William Henry Moser will travel 10 km on the 93-km Sarateni-Soroca road by bicycle on April 2. This road will be rehabilitated within the Compact Program of the Millennium Challenge Corporation that is financed by the U.S. Government, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a press release from the Millennium Challenge Fund.
The trip will start at 10 am at the Sarateni intersection. The itinerary includes the road section that crosses the villages Codrul Nou, Tantareni and Negureni of Telenesti district.
The reconstruction and modernization of the Sarateni-Soroca road is the objective of the road rehabilitation project of the Compact Program that is implemented by the Millennium Challenge Fund. The Compact aims to contribute to increasing the incomes of the Moldovan population in
2010-2015 by developing road infrastructure, renovating the irrigation systems and stimulating transition to modern agriculture.
The US$130 million road rehabilitation project envisions the reconstruction of roads, surveillance of the construction, making of feasibility studies and other related activities.
