Until new passenger transportation rules are approved, minibus route administrators will use older decision
The administrators of minibus routes in the municipality of Chisinau will work under a decision of 2000 that regulates passenger transportation operations. Such an ordinance was issued by the Mayor General of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca and will remain in force until the Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC)
examines and approves new passenger transportation rules, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The ordinance bans the General Public Transport and Communications Division from issuing other documents that would run counter to the decision of 2000.
New passenger transportation rules are needed as the CMC on May 14 abrogated the regulations concerning passenger and baggage transportation by road. The local councilors argued that the document ran counter to a number of Government decisions and accused unaffiliated councilor Oleg Onishchenko, who is the chairman of the commission for designating route administrators, of using the regulations for personal interests.
