The university mobility program between Moldova and Romania is expected to be launched in the second half of the 2013-2014 academic year. The ministries from both banks of the Prut River will sign such an agreement. Until then, the ministries are holding talks with the universities that must give their consent to the implementation of the program, IPN reports.
Minister of Education Maia Sandu recently paid a visit to Bucharest where she discussed the prospect of the program with her Romanian counterpart Remus Pricopie. “The details will be agreed in the near future. The program is of interest to Moldova and Romania. We now must see if it holds interests for the Moldovan and Romanian universities because this program is based on reciprocity,” the minister told a news conference.
The program was proposed by Prime Minister Iurie Leanca during an official visit to Bucharest, where he met with his Romanian counterpart Victor Ponta. The Romanian Premier supported the Moldovan official’s suggestion.
