The period of transition to financial autonomy for higher education establishments was extended for a year, until the end of 2019, IPN reports, quoting a Government decision.

This way, the ministries in 2019 will allocate funds to the managed higher education institutions for providing educational services. The standard financing per student and the adjustment coefficient will be applied after a methodology based on performance indicators concerning research and the transfer of knowledge and teaching and learning is approved. The Ministry of Education drafted such a methodology that is to be applied in 2019.

The switchover by universities to financial autonomy was started in 2013 and was to end in 2018.
