United Right expresses support for Moldova, banks on support of its voters here

The United Right Alliance of Romania expresses its full support for the European aspirations of the Republic of Moldova and assures that it will fructify this support in the new European Parliament. Messages in this regard were formulated at a large meeting staged on Sunday in Chisinau by a delegation of the Alliance, IPN reports.

The campaign event entitled “United Right in Chisinau: Moldova’s future in the European Union” was attended by over 1,000 people, including citizens with dual nationality, who believe in the common future of Romania and Moldova in the EU. Among them, mayors and parliamentarians from Moldova with European aspirations, says a press release of the United Right.

“We must believe, together, that there are solutions within politics. Politics must not be something to run away from, but must keep democracy alive. I came to Chisinau as a friend who wants Moldova to be successful, develop and prosper in Europe. We will support Moldova’s European path, from the European Parliament and from the government, with all our force. The over 1 million Moldovans who are already European citizens must know that they are not alone, that they have a partner in the Save Romania Union and the United Right,” said USR chairman Cătălin Drulă.

“Together with chairman Cătălin Drulă and chairman Ludovic Orban, I came to Chisinau to strengthen our commitment to the common future of the Romanians in the republic of Moldova and of Romania in the EU. This is our destiny and the commitment of the United Right to fight every day, from Brussels, for our voice to be heard, and for this Romanian land not to be abandoned, and for our ideals to be attained. The Romanians here want just as much to enjoy freedom, the Romanian language, to regain their dignity. The desideratum of the Romanians in the Republic of Moldova stands on these three pillars,” said Eugen Tomac, chairman of the People’s Movement Party.

The USR mayors of Sector 2 and Bacău municipality - Radu Mihaiu and Lucian Stanciu Visitu - spoke about the role of European funds in modernizing the cities they manage, demonstrating through concrete examples the benefits of joining the European Union.

The United Right aims to increase financial support for the Republic of Moldova by identifying additional sources of funding from the EU budget. Another concern of the United Right MEPs will be to promote the allocation of funds to counter Russian subversions, as well as to increase Moldova’s participation in EU programs, such as Horizon Europe, Fiscalis, Customs, LIFE, EU4Health, Erasmus +, Erasmus Mundus and other projects that have a direct impact on the quality of life of the citizens.

The United Right Alliance was formed by the Save Romania Union, (USR) the People’s Movement Party and the Force of the Right, including for joint participation in the 2024 European Parliament elections that were scheduled to take place between June 6 and 9, 2024.
