Unite is the only mobile telephony operator that increased its market share in the second quarter of this year, Info-Prim Neo learned from the Moldtelecom press service. According to the press release, Moldtelecom’s success on the mobile telephony market under the Unite brand have been confirmed by the 1st semester report of the National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology. The number of Unite customers increased to 161,000, which is 22.6% more than in 2010. The growing popularity of Unite boosted the Moldtelecom income in this sector by 28.3%. Official statistics show Unite registered the highest growth among mobile telephony operators in the 2nd trimester of 2011. Unite’s network grew by 31,200 customers, which is a 24% improvement. Thus, Unite was the only mobile telephony network to increase its market share in the 2nd trimester of this year. According to the number of customers, Unite’s market share rose from 0.9% to 4.9%, while the other two operators’ shares dropped. A significant growth registered by Unite was in the number of 3G users. Moldtelecom saw 2642 new users, which is 22.69% more than last year. According to ANRCETI experts, Unite’s market share on this segment increased by 1.5%, reaching 10%, to the loss of other operators.
