A number of unionist organizations intend to stage a large-scale march in Chisinau on November 8 to demand the re-formation of the two Romanian states, Moldova and Romania. The march will set off from near the monument to Ruler Stephan the Great at 1pm. It is organized on the initiative of the National Unity Bloc and the Union Council, in parallel with the pro-Union demonstrations staged in Bucharest and other Romanian cities, IPN reports, quoting a communique of the organizers.
“The tragedy that happened at Colectiv club clearly showed that the political class in Romania needs to be re-formed. On the other hand, the socioeconomic disaster witnessed by the Republic of Moldova showed that the state needs to be fully reorganized. In Bucharest and in Chisinau, we have the chance to take a vital step so that we all live in a better Romania: a common Government for the two Romanian states,” said the representative of the National Unity Bloc Constantin Codreanu.
“On Sunday we will take to the streets in the two capitals to demand a common Government. We will go on a march to the Embassies of the U.S., Germany and Romania to symbolically transmit our message to them,” stated the representative of the Civic Movement “Moldova’s Youth” Vitalie Prisacaru.
The National Unity Block is a coalition consisting of 22 nongovernmental entities among which the Unionist Platform “Actiunea 2012”, the Civic Movement “Moldova’s Youth”, the Democratic Forum of Romanians in Moldova and the Association of Former Deportees and Political Detainees of Moldova.
