Unionists to picket Parliament tomorrow
The Moldovan Confederation of Unions (CNSM) has announced it is going to picket the Palace Republic on Friday in a bid to persuade Parliament into reconsidering a proposed rise in the employees' social insurance contribution from 6% to 7% on account of a reduction in the employers' contribution from 23% to 22%.
The decision to protest was unanimously adopted at an extraordinary meeting of the CNSM board by the representatives of the 29 trade unions.
Earlier the CNSM issued a statement to denounce the Government's intention to rise individual social insurance contributions, a measure which it estimated would reduce employees' earnings by at least 250 million lei.
