“We found the key that can enable the unionists, us all, to present ourselves with dignity at these elections, to bank on our growth so that we reach the runoffs and, if we reach them, Dodon will be definitely beaten,” the candidate for President of the UNION Political Movement Dorin Chirtoacă was quoted by IPN as saying in a news conference.

The politician said the Government is only an electoral staff of the incumbent President, while Parliament became the main market, the main shopping center, a kind of mall where MPs are bought and sold. “The other state institutions mimic work according to the agenda of the one who holds power. The pandemic came over all this and unprecedented disrespect for our doctors is now witnessed owing to this dysfunctionality,” stated Dorin Chirtoacă.

Tatiana Potâng, acting president of the Romanian People’s Party, said the decision to nominate Dorin Chirtoacă as the UNONs candidate for President was taken not at all easily. “The UNION Political Movement is a living entity, with personality, where the decisions are not dictated from one side or from up, but are taken by consultation with decision makers of each political organization,” she stated.

Valeriu Munteanu, who heads the Save Bessarabia Union, expressed his confidence that Dorin Chirtoacă will be the only one who in the election campaign will tell the citizens that the Republic of Moldova is a failed state, while the presidential administration is a sham institution. “We should head for the union, where each citizen of the Republic of Moldova will have a role and purpose and everyone will enjoy welfare as we wished for during the past 30 years,” he noted.

The UNION Political Movement consists of five parties, namely the Liberal Party, the Romanian People’s Party, the Save Bessarabia Union, the National Liberal Party, and the Democracy at Home Party.
