The youth organization of the Communist Party (PCRM) says that it has no relations with “Antifa” and the false information about its connection with this movement is disseminated by the media outlets loyal to the government, IPN reports.
According to a press statement of the Union of Communist Youth of Moldova, during 19 years of work the youth organization staged different events aimed at combating fascism. They also prepared a plan of action for celebrating 70 years of the victory over fascism and cooperated with a number of national and international organizations in this respect. But they assert that they have nothing in common with the actions of the anti-fascist organization “Antifa” and call on the mass media not to mislead the people.
Earlier, the media reported that a number of young people wearing T-shirts with the word “Antifa” were arrested by the police after they wrote “Save the people from Donbas” on the asphalt before the Embassy of Ukraine in Chisinau. According to press reports, “Antifa” is headed by Communist MP Grigore Petrenco and former Communist MP Mark Tkachuk.
