Unified Crisis Management Center starts work

The Unified Crisis Management Center became functional and coordinates the assistance efforts made by the Government, international organizations, private entities and volunteers. A hotline will start work at the Center on Tuesday morning. The hotline intended for refugees – 08-000-15-27 – remains functional, IPN reports.

Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilița told a news conference that the Center will be managed by the Government’s secretary general Dumitru Udrea. Representatives of the Unnoted Nations High Commissioner for Refugees will also work there. The hotline that starts work at 9am on March 1 can be used to find out how one can provide assistance in the created situation.

“Three more aid collection centers for private individuals will work besides the one set up at “Moldexpo” Center. The central depository where the aid will be stored and sorted becomes operational today. I urge you to donate further into the treasury account at the Ministry of Finance. At 11am on March 1, we will meet the first batch of humanitarian aid consisting of essential products from the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees,” stated the Premier.

Dumitru Udrea noted that the three aid collection centers were opened at Moldova Film (61 Hâncești St), the Palace of Railway Workers (2, Decebal St) and the Technical University of Moldova (9/7 Studenților St).

There was compiled a list of things needed by refuges, such as blankets, bed linen, mattresses, plates and dishes, hygiene products, detergents, diapers, cans and other packed food products. Frozen food products are unsuitable.
